About Mary, and her dream...
Mary started Independent Home Care of Michigan LLC, after working in the medical industry for several years. Before starting IHCM she had worked as the director of two other agencies, but found that the level of care and concern for the clients, did not meet with her personal standard. IHCM opened their doors in July 2000.
Mary began her educational journey at the insistance of her parents to follow nursing. She attended the Shaperio Nursing School in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated as a License Practical Nurse (LPN). She gained experience on the more practical side of nursing as a floor nurse in nursing homes around Detroit. Finding that she had a love and interest in working with the elderly, she spent the following years caring for and working in this field.
Devoting the formative years to the Clark family children, Mary later returned to college and earned her RN degree. She gravitated back to geriatrics and also worked as a visiting nurse. She was recruited by a nationally known home care company, where she worked as their director, until moving to set up an agency for another medical group. Having the desire to implement more compassion into the mission, and having an intense drive to be indepenent of the corporate strings, she made the decision to take the risk and form her own agency: Independent Home Care of Michigan LLC.
That day in July 2000 was a defining moment in her life. Along with her husband (Glenn), the support of her children, loyal clients, and trusted employees that followed her, she opened the way for IHCM to begin providing in-home health care with a sense of compassion and honesty. Mary's stated goals are: to provide the best care for our client's, and to provide our employee's with a great place to work. She has lived by these simple but very important guidelines since that opening day. She named it "Independent" because she wanted it to be free of negative forces, and run on on a daily basis, reflecting her vision of homecare.
Mary is now a Certified Case Manager and takes time to visit the client's home, to manage their care and to stay in touch with their family, friends, and loved ones. She expects the highest quality of care and professionalism from all the IHCM employees, and gets involved with the staffing of each case. She insures that all of the staff is fully trained, so their skills benefit the client's personal needs.
Independent Home Care of Michigan LLC was started with the mission to bring better home care to our clients. As of today, it has met this challenge, and evolved into a homecare that has influenced hundreds of families in Michigan.
Thanks for your interest in IHCM. Call Mary if you have a need for our services, and you will see what I have seen for over 30 years: she is the most loving and caring person I have ever known, and will be an advocate for you and your family, in your time of need.
Regards,
Glenn Clark
